Christmas Time Is Here....

Our final club we made some Christmas projects... it was so fun!
We made this box for Cards... I got it from http://elainescreations.blogspot.ca/2011/03/scalloped-card-box-tutorial.html.  I used some retired 12 x 12 paper to make the smoky slate card pop.
Then we made this swing card.
I wanted to use the cutest new Christmas stamp set ever, "Color Me Christmas".  We used a watercoloring technique... so fun!

The instructions on how to make it are http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/swing_flip_flop_card/

Then I wanted to show how to make a santa with sparkly beard using dazzling diamonds:
And that's a wrap! Merry Christmas everybody :)

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

One of the events I look forward to the very most the entire year is my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack... I decorate early, get a Christmas playlist of my favorite tuns, put Caramel Apple Cider on the stove and prepare 3 Christmas Cards for the class.... and you fill my house with laughter, concentration and joy as we get ready for Christmas together and make a pile of cards.
This year, I offered 4 cards to choose from instead of 3, because I couldn't decide!
Here's the first:
It's not a great picture... but we used the mosaic emboss folder from facebook, and then the mosaic stamp set and punch... a fun card and very easy.
Colors: Smoky Slate, Real Red, Garden Green

This is a classic Christmas Card, using my two favorite colors for Christmas: Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive

This is a lot simpler than it looks... I love cards that are all on the same layer, but it's very striking all the same.
And I think I saved the best for last, this is a card I cased that is SO amazing.... we did it in black and in brown.  The background is an embossing folder, then I brayered it with black or brown on one side of the folder to create this unique background.  Thanks to Laura Leuenberger for coming up with this beautiful card!

Halloween time!

My daughter Audrey and I love our owl punch!  I made this card for club last year, and pulled it out for her and a friend to make... she did everything free hand except the actual owls... i think she did great!
With 3 daughters, life is pretty busy, so stampin' time is not happening as much as I like... but I do find that when I scrapbook or make cards, my kids want to, too!
Here's what we made:
And then for club this month, we did a smorgasbord of projects, but this card was new:

We used the mosaic stamp set, and matching punch and embossing folder.... I love the elegance in this card, and yet it was super simple!

Now we will be heading full force into Christmas Card season... come back soon for sneak peaks on my Christmas Stamp a Stack cards!

Papaya Easel

For club in September, we made this card with the Easel technique .  It was simple, and fun... and I love all of the layers.

Stamp sets: Papaya Collage,Vintage Vogue wheel and Sweetly Framed (hostess set)
Colors: Always Artichoke, Primrose Petals, Soft Sky, Early Espresso and So Saffron
here's a close up of the main images:

We stamped off the bird, and cut out the butterfly and rose. Simple and fun!

And as a second simple project, we made this little gift tag to go on gift bags (although one of my club members mentioned it would make an adorable bookmark, too!
it's much smaller than it looks, but super cute and fun and easy!
Here's the fold on the inside:

Just make sure to fold or score the top of the coffee to make it double, and then cut around both without cutting the top!  And then stamp a lid separately and cut it out, and pop it on with 3D dimensionals, and voila!

Chalk Talk

As soon as I got my hands on the new catalogue, I new I had to get the stamp set chalk talk.
What's even more amazing is that it comes in a bundle, with the new framelits for the bigshot,so you save 15%!
So when I bought it I knew I wanted to use it for our club projects.  I am SO happy with how they turned out!
This one will be for my sisters birthday... I used a few new techniques to complete this card:
I used the new tea lace paper doilies, and made strong black tea, and poured it over the doilie to give it the stained look.  Then I used the sponge daubers to use very vanilla on the black matte, to make it look like I erased on chalkboard.  Finally, I used the new simply pressed clay and the molds to make the roses... I LOVE LOVE LOVE that for under $10 you can buy the clay and the molds, and then quickly make ANY color flower or button with the stampin' write markers.  Genius!

Lastly, we made this simple 4 x4 card... I used the in colors and then black to really pop it.  Love this new ribbontoo!  But I must say, my favorite part is the chevron background stamp, stamped in the new illuminate glitter pad!  I know I will come back to it again and again!

Finding the Road to Happiness...

It's embarrassing that the last time I posted was mid May... I wish I had so much more time for card making and scrapbooking!  This has been a very busy season... I now have 3 girls, and for the past 10 weeks I had been looking after our friends kids, which left me with 5 kids under 5!  It was very busy.
I did, however, have time to design a card for a friends wedding.... and the car moves!

I adapted the penny slider technique, and made a pull tab on the side, so you can pull the car along.

I love this retro color combo of black and white, with the new Coastal Cobana on the car.
This stamp set is Road to Happiness.... I love how versital it is!  Here is a second card I made for birthdays using the same set:
This is using the new grey, Smoky Slate, and the two new in colors, Crisp Cantelope and Strawberry Slush.  Such a cute and simple card!

And lastly, for my Open House in June, I made a card using the new Modern Mosaic stamp set, and the coordinating punch.  This was super easy, fast, and so cute!
Not the best picture of it, sorry... but I had so much fun, and we could mix and match all of the new in colors!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Paper Pumpkin, The Best of and other things

Stampin' up always has great ideas... I want to tell you about two new things that really blow my mind.

The first is PAPER PUMPKIN.  This is a program that is really unique, and really fun.  Check it out:

Sweep away the mundane - order your Paper Pumpkin today!

Paper Pumpkin

Just think . . . I come to your door each month (a fully decked-out creativity carriage). I'll help you escape your life with some paper fun. (I'm kinda like your paper fairy godmother—without white hair!) You'll love what you find on the inside: All the stamps, ink, paper, and accessories to create pinable projects. Stuff like cards, 3-D items, and more!
$24.95 / month

This is really ideal for people that love to craft, but don't know if you have enough time.  This is a kit that comes right to your door every month... and you can cancel anytime!  I love that it's all there for you... so if you have an hour or two, you open up the kit, and go for it.  You can mix and match the projects with things that you already have, or just use what it already there.

Check it out online for further questions at https://mypaperpumpkin.com/en-ca/faq/

The second thing I'm super excited about is our BEST OF 25 YEARS selection.
As part of their 25-year anniversary celebration, we’re bringing back some of our favorite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into 12 sets, which will release—one set per month—during 2013. Even better, along with some great classic images, each “Best of” set will also include a never-before-seen image!
Here is an example of the stamp sets:
JANUARY

Some things to remember:
  • All Best of stamp sets will include 3-5 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $17.95
  • While we are releasing just one Best of stamp set per month (with a new theme each month), all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.
  • A new flyer will be released every month for each new Best of set.
  • All Best of stamp sets are available in Clear-Mount only.
While we are releasing just one Best of stamp set per month, all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.
As a special incentive to collect the Best of stamps, we’re including a collector’s card and 25-year proof of purchase sticker with every Best of set. Collect six stickers, and send it in to redeem a FREE set of your choice valued up to $17.95! Free sets must be redeemed no later than April 30, 2014.

Hearts a Flutter and other things

Man, having 3 kids is busy!  On top of that, I'm also daycaring 5 days a week, which gives me a total of 5 kids under 5... so things haven't been happening in the Stamping department very much.  Although that is one of the reasons I love being a Stampin' Up demonstrator... it forces me to take time to be creative!

I made a simple card using the Hearts of Flutter stamp set and the coordinating pieces for the big shot... no cutting involved!  Love how quick and easy it is.
Bet you think that this set is only for Valentine's Day... but we used it for Mother's Day, instead.  I think it's actually very versitale, and would use it for Birthdays, Weddings, and Babies.
Here's what we made:

This next card my friend Stacey Rose made for me.  I think it's stunning in it's simplicity.
That's all for now!

Saleabrate!

I had no idea it has been so long since I last posted, but I do have a good excuse... we welcomed our third daughter, Lexie Marie Jones, into our home this month!  I feel incredibly blessed by my life, with my three beautiful daughters, and I love that I can stay home with them.  I wish I had more time to scrapbook and make cards, but I'm sure that will come eventually!

For club this month, i wanted to use some of the fun saleabration products I got for free by spending at least $60... I saw this card, and I decided to CASE it... but change it for my taste, and also for the products and colors I wanted to use.
here's the original card:

This uses a technique called the "teabag fold".  Here is a you tube video that is incredibly helpful in learning how to make it:

I choose to alternate patterns, though, like the card at the top, so I made 4 one way, and 4 the other.
Here's my card:

I used the sycamore street DSP, sycamore street ribbon and button pack from saleabration.  Then, I used the Vine street textured impression embossing folder.  The colors are from the DSP, sahara sand, pool party, island indigo, calypso coral and rich razzleberry.
I also used the pretty petites stamp set and petite curly label punch from the saleabration catalogue.

Hopefully I'll find time to post more in the future, thanks for checking in!
